For many, it started with a guitar.

Mosahefu is no different. Upon seeing her mother’s thirty year-old Harmony acoustic for the first time at the age of seven, MSHF’s six string love affair began. Shortly after, she began taking guitar lessons with esteemed instructor Bill Schrey at Gelb Music in Redwood City, California. In high school, she began to experiment with the world of electric guitars and effects, contributing to a life-long passion of gear acquisition syndrome, a problem she is still plagued with to this day.

  • In February of 2014, Mosahefu released her first EP The Strangle and the Struggle, a limited edition CD release that resulted in her first Winter NAMM attendance as well as her first endorsement by West Coast Pedal Board. She has since attended each subsequent Winter NAMM show.
  • From mid 2014 – early 2017, Mosahefu became the Shop Manager at San Francisco Guitarworks, using countless off-hours to learn the ins and outs of guitar repair. In 2016, she completed her first custom parts build, the Mermaid Strat. She is currently working on another build, the Lamia Warmoth, for 2017.
  • In mid-2015, Mosahefu became the YouTube EMGtv host for EMG Pickups.
  • Mosahefu is currently forming an all-female melodic death metal band with friends. More to come.
